Welcome to the homepage of the Southampton University Wireless Society - home of the Open Wireless Network, the University's Amateur Radio Club and all things related to radio/wireless communications.

We are planning events for Freshers Week 2011, click the link for more! This includes two introductory meetings on the Thursday 6th and Tuesday 11th October.

SOWN (Southampton Open Wireless Network) is a Wireless Networking project which aims to build a free-to-use wireless network in Southampton, UK.

Current activities include IPv6 and 802.1x deployment on our Community-Wide WiFi network as well as VoIP and Mesh networking.
