Hazard to health and/or safety present Possible risk to persons & public Precautions to take Severity Likelihood Risk Level Action Required, by whom and when?
General risks
Slips, trips and falls Minor injuries All cables routed away from walkways. Loose cables to be appropriately secured to prevent trip hazards. L L L
RF Energy Warming of body tissue Power limited to 100W. All feeders placed well out of reach. Good RF earth for equipment. L L L
Manual handling Risk of Musculoskeletal injures, cuts, bruises and crushing. Members must ensure that they follow proper lifting procedure, reminding others when necessary. Ensure that the appropriate number of people are used to carry the load, depending on weight of load and capacity of those involved in the lift. M M M
Lead-acid batteries Shorting of contacts could lead to damage to the cells or fire Contacts are taped over for storage and transportation M L L
Wires temporarily at head height during setup/packdown Risk of injury caused by walking into partially assembled antennas Ensure everyone present (including, but not limited to, club members and nearby members of the public) are aware of the construction going on L L L
