<p>Creation.</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>Upon recommendation from a local Radio Amateur the society planned an outing to Milford-On-Sea for the 12th of June 2011. [http://www.sown.org.uk/wiki/SUWS_June_Outing Plan on SOWN Wiki].<br /> <br /> Unfortunately the weather (very high winds and sea spray) prohibited operation from the beach car park as was planned, although it was verified as a good future location.<br /> <br /> Therefore an alternative site was found just down the road. An end-fed zep antenna was put up between the minibus and a single section of scaffold pole lashed to a fencepost a short distance away.<br /> <br /> Later on a section of scaffold pole was put up using a tripod in order to mount a 3-element 2m yagi antenna.<br /> <br /> == Contacts ==<br /> <br /> Several European contacts were made on HF SSB during the evening, finishing with a contact to Florida, USA just after midnight.<br /> <br /> On 2m FM several local contacts were made, as well as a contact over 60 miles away in Devon.
